Support for SEND families
Haslam Park Primary School
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – Parent and Carer Support
Welcome to Our SEND Support Page
At Haslam Park Primary School, we believe every child deserves to feel happy, safe, valued and included.
We understand that raising a child with additional needs can sometimes bring challenges, and finding the right information and support is not always easy.
Whether your child has an identified special educational need, is awaiting an assessment, or you have concerns about their learning, communication, development or emotional wellbeing, our team is here to listen and help.
Your child does not need a formal diagnosis for you to speak to us about their needs.
Please come along to our SEND parents drop ins, details are on Dojo.
Meet Our SEND and Family Support Team
Our dedicated team works closely with children, families, teaching staff and other professionals to ensure that children receive appropriate support.
Rachel Kempster – Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
Rachel coordinates SEND provision across the school, working with parents, carers, staff and external professionals to support children with additional needs.
Parents and carers can speak to Rachel about SEN Support, additional learning needs, assessments, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or any other questions they have abut SEND.
Carys Barnes – SENCO Support
Carys works alongside the SENCO and school staff to support children with additional needs and the school's SEND provision.
Chloe Ratcliffe-Cross – SENCO Support
Chloe works alongside the SENCO and school staff to help ensure children with additional needs are supported throughout their school journey.
Michelle Birch – Speech and Language Support
Michelle coordinates speech and language support across Haslam Park Primary School.
She helps organise and oversee support for children who experience difficulties with speech, language and communication.
This may include supporting children who find it difficult to express themselves, understand instructions, develop vocabulary or communicate confidently with others.
Michelle works with school staff to help ensure that speech and language support is coordinated and meets children's individual needs.
Racheal Biggs – Family Support Worker
Racheal supports parents and carers who may need additional advice, guidance or practical help.
She can help families explore appropriate support for emotional wellbeing, parenting concerns, family challenges and accessing local services.
