Safeguarding culture

Safeguarding at Our School

Our most important responsibility is keeping your children safe in school and supporting you to keep them safe at home.

We are proud to have a highly skilled staff team who take safeguarding extremely seriously. Safeguarding underpins all that we do and reflects our commitment to providing a safe, supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Our practice is fully aligned with national statutory guidance and Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework, where safeguarding is judged as a fundamental aspect of a school’s effectiveness.

Our Safeguarding Team

We have four members of staff trained to Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) level:

  • Ms Kempster – Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

  • Mrs Roughley – Safeguarding Officer & Deputy DSL

  • Mrs Griffin – Safeguarding Officer

  • Ms Hampson – Safeguarding Officer

These staff lead safeguarding practice in school, support families, and work closely with external agencies where required.

Our Duty of Care

The school has a statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

If information comes to our attention that indicates a child may be at risk of significant harm, or is experiencing harm, we are legally required to take action. This may include making a referral to Bolton Children’s Services via telephone or through the Integrated Front Door.

We will work in partnership with parents and carers; however, the child’s safety will always remain our paramount concern.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. By working together, we can ensure all children feel safe, supported, and protected.
