A sun hat and sun cream
You can view your child’s learning journey online using the Tapestry website below.
We will be doing PE every Thursday. Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school. They will need a white t-shirt, blue/black shorts and pumps. We have been using the equipment to practise different jumps and balances.
This week we have read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister and learnt all about what makes a good friend and how to share. We enjoyed making our own Rainbow fish and decorating them.
This week we have had the pleasure of being visited by The Brush Bus! They have come into school to teach us how to keep our teeth healthy and what foods we should eat. We even got to practise brushing our teeth and were given a toothbrush with toothpaste! Have a look at some of our pictures!
We read 'This is Our House' and learnt all about sharing and being kind. We then worked with a friend to make a house. We listened to each other using the scissors to cut and the glue to stick. Can you see the windows, door and chimneys?
We have had a fantastic first half term at school! We have made lots of new friends. To celebrate a successful start to school we had a Teddy Bear's Picnic and went on a Bear Hunt in outdoor learning.
We have had a spooky science afternoon today. We have made witches' brew, helped spiders to spin their web, explored floating and sinking with the eyeballs and had a go at carving pumpkins.
We have been learning about animals that help us this week. In outdoor learning we learnt about how important worms are and have made a worm farm! We got a little muddy hunting and digging for them!
Reception have spent time today thinking about people who have served past and present and made sacrifices for our country. We have been painting, making and decorating poppies.
We have been learning about Autumn and what signs of Autumn we can see if our school grounds. We learnt about how some animals hibernate and others migrate. We made our own squirrel with a friend using autumnal leaves. We loved playing outside collecting the leaves and throwing them up in the air.
We have had some very exciting visitors today! We got to meet Gary the snail, Luna the tarantula, Tango the snake, Lightening the tortoise, Pancake the bearded dragon and Biscuit the rat!
Reception loved trying out the balance bikes this week! We worked hard to improve our balance completing an obstacle course. We went under the limbo, zigzagged though the cones, over the ramp and around the flag.
Happy New Year everyone! We have started the new term off in style by starting our topic on ‘Superheroes.’ We have initially explored a range of fictional superheroes and thought about why they are so amazing. We then moved on to looking at real life superheroes, such as those who work in the public services and what they do to help us. We’ve enjoyed learning about them and even dressing up like them so that we can pretend to be superheroes just like them!
