Here at Haslam Park, we absolutely LOVE our MFL lessons.
We have a specialist teacher, Senorita Thompson, who visits Key Stage 2 once a week to deliver fun, engaging and interesting lessons. They involve: singing, speaking and listening and writing.
Our learning is progressive which means that with each half term, term and year that goes by, we are constantly building on our Spanish knowledge so that by the time we leave primary school, we are ready for the challenges that come with learning languages at secondary school.
MARVELLOUS MFL NEWS
During one of our recent MFL sessions, Wissal (year 6 Mandela Class) demonstrated the ability to share key information about herself: her likes, dislikes and things that are important to her. Senorita Thompson was so impressed that she suggested we share it on our Twitter page.
Within days, the wonderful teachers at the Primary Languages Network contacted us to ask if we could use Wissal's video in their training course materials to share what 'the gold standard' of year 6 MFL looks like. What an achievement!
You can watch Wissal's video on our twitter page: https://twitter.com/Haslamparkprim1/status/1319215444788715522

In our Spanish lessons, we apply our acquisition of new words and phrases in Spanish to the four DFE skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. This makes our learning rich, varied and embedded.
